Candle Care
Here are some important tips to help you get the very best from your candles:
Candles have a memory! When lighting your candle for the first time, always make sure you allow plenty of time - at least 3-4 hours usually, for the candle to burn completely to the edges of the glassware. This will ensure you are getting the best value from your candle and the maximum burn hours!
At the end of each burn, before re lighting for your next burn, make sure you trim your wick to about 5-7mm. When your wick starts to look like a mushroom and throws a bit of smoke, it is usually time for a trim.
Our wick trimmers are specially designed to cut the wick at the correct height each time before you light your candle.
As candles smoke from time to time as they burn lower in the glassware, you may also need to wipe the edges of your glassware with a tissue to keep your candle looking fresh and clean.

Candle Snuffer
We recommend that you snuff your candles out, rather than blow them out. Blowing out your candles may result in embers and burnt wick pieces falling into the wax as well as creating a lot of smoke and making your candle look unsightly. Using a snuffer will help prevent this from happening and keep your wax clean.
The beauty of the bell swinging snuffer is that you are able to use it with your deeper candle jars especially as the candle burns lower. They are also very decorative and make a lovely gift for candle lovers.

About Us
Deidre & Mog Designs was founded in 2012. Deidre & Mog are the childhood nic-names of the founder and her brother. Deidre learnt how to make high quality soy candles while on a visit to Scotland in late 2014 visiting a good friend who used to live in Perth. Upon returning to WA, candles were made as gifts for friends and family until word got around and requests for purchasing candles began flooding in, which then brought about the beginning of Deidre & Mog. Honouring the tradition in sharing the craftsmanship passed on from her friend in Scotland, the 10% donation of profits to charities is being continued.
